My weight loss story


As a young girl I had the perfect figure for a thirteen-year-old. I had developed earlier than most and felt self-conscious about it. I would round my shoulders to cover up my chest with my arms. My father passed away suddenly. I was very depressed and cried every night into my pillow for two years. My mother told us not a to talk about my father. And as a result, I began eating lots of sugar and sweets, gained lots of weight and lost my lovely figure. My mother took me to the doctor and as a teenager. I was put on water pills diet pills and a 1000 calorie diet. I lost the weight but did not learn or understand that if I started eating the same way again, I would gain the weight back. And, of course that is what happened.

As an adult many years later, my cousin introduced me to Dr Fuhrman's Eat to Live book. She at the time lost 140lbs. I read it and hired a coach to help me cross over and transition from the Standard American Diet to a nutritarian diet. It took me several years to understand the new philosophy. The first step was realizing that there are no "quick" fixes. In the "Eat to Live" program you learn important information about food and healthy eating to become an expert in your own nutrition. The keys to success are in your hands for successful weight management and in control of your own health destiny. Health is predicted according to Dr Fuhrman by your nutrient intake divided by your calorie intake. A high nutrient diet that is full of macronutrients - carbs, fats and proteins, and micronutrients- vitamins, minerals, fibers & phytochemicals. The more nutrients you consume, the more you will be satisfied and the less you will eat high caloric foods. You will eat nutritional foods such as GBOMBS greens, beans, onions mushrooms berries and seeds with salad as the main meal, fewer calories & fat. And as a result, you will slow down the aging process, help repair cells, reduce inflammation, help rid the body of toxins. I lost weight with eating nutritional desserts and enjoying what I was eating, and the weight came off! I lost the weight I had been trying to lose for years!
