Persephone the Greek Goddess of Spring & the Underworld is the Goddess of the month!

Persephone is the Greek Goddess of the Spring and the Queen of the Underworld.

Persephone was the only child of the union of Demeter the Goddess of Abundant harvest and Zeus the mighty ruler of the Olympians. Persephone was born when Demeter was Zeus' consort before his marriage to Hera. One day while Persephone was playing in a field of wildflowers, the meadow suddenly was wide open. Hades swept Persephone, took her to his underworld and made her his queen. When Demeter heard her screams, she was consumed with grief and sorrow.

Demeter demonstrated her outrage by withholding her blessing from the earth until Persephone returned to her. With the world turned upside down with barrenness and famines, Hades returned Persephone to her mother Demeter. When the Goddess of awakening returned, she brought the spring and its lush fertile growth of Spring.

Come to the Goddess Gathering of Tampa Bay on April 22 11:30-1p at Sea Sea Riders Downtown Dunedin for lunch! Enjoy meeting sharing and discussing Persephone and how you relate to her!
